|0,1-0,2 cm|20-30 cm ↑|A rare species in the genus Bursera, rarely found in a limited, rocky area from Oaxaca to Puebla, in central and southwestern Mexico, and even rarer in cultivation. Of all Bursera, this species is apparently particularly drought-tolerant - at least, thats what the name arida suggests. The Burseras typical compact, shrubby growth habit and smooth, peeling, red to orange bark allow these plants to become quite spectacular bonsai plants with little effort. However, the caretaker should have some experience in caring for Bursera. The fine, feathery foliage is only visible during the short growing season and simply falls off in summer. Then, the view is unobstructed by the beautiful, gray-silver trunk, whose soft wood, incidentally, is fragrant. The flowers are small and inconspicuous at first glance - but theyre worth a closer look! Care: Bright to sunny location, dry in winter, and not below 12°C.
