|1,5-2 cm Ø|3-5 cm ↑|The plant can be assumed as which produces the largest caudex above ground. Looking quite similar as a stone and can reach a diameter of up to 1.5 m. The wine-like foliage forms a regular canopy, like a green gazebo. Pyrenacantha is dioecious, the female plants bring orange fruit. Very rare are also hermaphrodite (bisexual) flowers, which can spontaneously set seed. The flowers are small and unimpressive. The caudex (water-bearing tuber) is hemispherical, but often also irregularly shaped, completely above ground, or partly under the surface. It can reach a diameter of up to 1,5 meter and become 75 cm high. The trivial name monkey chair is quite appropriate.

additional information:
Caudex- or pachyform plants. Forming ball-, disk- or bottle-like body (stem or roots). Very attractive and unique plants.

These plants were imported recently from nurserys from the United States, Thailand, or other countries. You will find very pretty plants with typical coloured spines, or ready for flowering. All plants are freshly potted, but may not be rerooted. In some cases there are only very few plants available.
