Time to celebrate: 200 years of Kakteen-Haage

The story began 200 years ago with a young gardener who received a cactus as a gift when he graduated. Friedrich Adolph Haage began his career in 1822 in the flower city of Erfurt.

200 years later, we were allowed to celebrate - on Saturday, September 24th, 2022 in the greenhouse, with many guests from near and far.

A special invitation was given to our former employees - with stories and photos from the old days.

++ The Federal Garden Show 2021 was celebrated in Erfurt and we were there ++

This year, all of Erfurt was dominated by the BUGA, the Federal Garden Show 2021. The ega-Park shines in new splendor and the Petersberg with the Petersberg Citadel has been kissed awake from its slumber. Some of the areas will be dismantled again in October 2021 - but most of the innovations will remain with the people of Erfurt and their visitors for the future. There are also beautiful outdoor locations around the Thuringian state capital that are worth exploring.

Cactus bench at the Hirschgarten

We are proud to have made a lasting contribution to the city as cactus gardeners in preparation for BUGA. A cactus bench in the Hirschgarten (directly opposite the State Chancellery) invites you to rest.
No, not with spines. Cactus beds with integrated benches show that cacti can easily keep up with other ornamental plants.

Desert and jungle in the Danakil climate zone house

In the desert and jungle house Danakil in the ega-Park, modern architecture, nature and ecology combine to form an impressive world of nature experience. Leaf-cutter ants, various reptiles, colorful butterflies and, last but not least, meerkats are the animal inhabitants of Danakil. And so that the desert really looks like a real desert, we supported the cactus experts in ega-Park in planting the huge cacti and other succulents in the new Danakil desert house.
