This pretty and also rare bulbous plant from the High-Andes has elliptical light green foliage. The primrose-yellow, light green veined umbell flowers are highly stalked. They appear in May / June before the foliage. For flowering, a dry winter rest is required between mid October and March, temperature between 13 and 0° C. In the wild, the plants grow in loamy soil on dry slopes between shrubs, tuff grasses and rocks. They develop entire colonies by young offsets.
