Tillandsia caulescens Peru, BOL 500-3000m

The species name caulescens describes the species growth habit, it develops a large stem, which can reach up to 45 cm in height. Its native habitat is at 500 to 3000 m altitude in Bolivia and Peru. It is an epiphytic species with densely spiral arranged grey-green leaves, white to red-violet flowers and red bracts. The flowers are up to 2,5 cm large and the tips of the petals are recurve.
