The drawings (Chromolithographs, early 20th century), which are impressive due to their rich colors and detailed representation, show the diversity and beauty of this plant genus, which is becoming increasingly popular in Germany. Cacti have long since ceased to be the craze of quirky plant nerds: cactus enthusiasts can now be found in urban backyards as well as in rural cottage gardens. The cacti depicted in this calendar, drawn by Toni Gürke, are a very special treasure due to their wealth of detail. Gürke was able to draw the cacti with a precision that a photo cannot convey.
