Its nickname dragon skin reflects the fact that the scarred, leathery skin turns darker as the intensity of the sun increases. The strange flower bushes in late summer also look like they dont quite belong on the plant. Also noteworthy is the extremely short growth period of only 2-3 months in the summer. For experienced succulent keepers, this plant is a treat. In every respect it is a plant that makes the viewer look at it more than once and is astonishing. Growing slowly, it will only reach its final size of 12 cm in diameter after a few years.
